How it all began…
In 1995, CD-ROM programs were highly popular. This boom, however, attracted theft at events like the CeBit IT trade show, where valuable CDs were often stolen from presentation computers.
It was during this time that our current managing director had a game-changing idea: “Why not copy the CD-ROM to the hard drive and make Windows think it’s a CD drive?”
From this idea, Virtual CD – a CD drive emulator – was born. This program didn’t just become a bestseller; it pioneered a new genre. But that was only the beginning: “If we can virtualize CD-ROMs, why not the graphics card?”
This led to our next product, MaxiVista, which allowed users, for the first time, to use a laptop—and later, an iPad—as an additional display for a PC.
As the popularity of our software grew, so did the volume of daily email inquiries. We needed a solution.
Unable to find a suitable product on the market, we developed our own text snippet program, which evolved into PhraseExpress, a typing productivity solution now used by renowned companies worldwide. This template management software is available across various platforms.
Facing the challenge of managing multiple Windows PCs and Macs at our workstations, we sought a way to declutter our desks from multiple keyboards and mice. This inspired the creation of our next product:
ShareMouse allows users to control multiple computers with a single mouse and keyboard. The mouse pointer seamlessly moves between screens of connected computers, and users can even drag and drop files between a Mac and a Windows PC.
Finally, the newest member of our product line, Macro Recorder, enables users to record and automate frequently used tasks on both Mac and Windows platforms.
